From Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child: Pendergast will answer ten strange questions

by

Hugh Paxton’s Blog received this rather enigmatic message from best-selling authors Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. And they suggested that I pass it on. I am doing that right now! Two days late, true, but I’ve had (strange) reasons for my irresponsible delay. No strange questions to me about that! My lips are sealed! If you enjoy their books you will have fun with this one! If you haven’t read their books I’d start with “Still Life with Crows” or “Wheel of Darkness”.

Gripping! And I mean really! Gripping!

Cheers from Hugh! (in Bangkok and the fighting here is nearly over! Apart from in the south where it will never stop)

Hello all good readers!

As you might imagine, we’re always getting asked questions about the elusive Agent Pendergast. What are his favorite foods? Does he ever go to the movies? What is his shoe size? What exactly did he do in the armed forces, anyway?

The problem is, Pendergast is notoriously private. He doesn’t like answering questions from us, his own chroniclers, let alone those of strangers.

But we’ve had a stroke of luck. Linc met with Pendergast recently, and it seems the agent has agreed to be a little more open—temporarily. (It probably has something to do with the case of Chateau Latour we sent him for his birthday.) He has consented to answer just ten questions from our readers.

…So here’s your chance to find out more about that one mystery, that tic, that shadowy hint, regarding Pendergast, which you’ve always wondered about. Send in the one question of your choice to PendergastQuestion. We’ll select a dozen to forward to him (as there will no doubt be at least two questions he’ll refuse to answer). We will present you with his responses in next month’s Pendergast File.

Remember, Pendergast has only agreed to answer ten questions, so your question may not get picked. But there’s always a chance that it will…

Instructions: Do not reply to this email. Instead, use the special email address, PendergastQuestion. Please put your question in the “Subject” line of the email, and try to keep it short — long-winded questions are likely to irritate Pendergast. In the body of the email, please include the name you’d like to have your question ascribed to in the next newsletter (e.g., “Jennifer from Houston” or “Poindexter Snodgrass III”).

Best of luck!

Until next time,

Doug & Linc

And now a note from Doug:
