Thai Days: Our bat is dead

by

Hugh Paxton’s Blog regrets to inform readers that Tod, our fruit bat, has died. It just did it despite our best efforts. It was a weak little thing and I loved it. But it gave up.

One wing was deformed. Tod would never have taken flight.

I fed Tod to the monitor lizards by the shrine pond by our house.

That’s the end of this story. I wish it had been a happier end.

Best from Bangkok!

Hugh

    Poor little chap.

Stella, my feelings exactly. We did what we could but we couldn’t do enough. Looking on the bright side there are still many fruit bats flying around Thai Village. The night sky isn’t empty.
