INTERPOL General Assembly Unanimously Adopts Environmental Security Resolution

Hugh Paxton’s Blog forwards more from INTERPOL. I’m really glad they’re doing this sort of thing! More power to their elbows say I!

Their opposition, and prey, are vile and must be extirpated. Wildlife criminals are not constricting themselves to rhino horns, pangolins etc. They’ll sell a little girl, 500,000 meth tabs, a stolen piano. The whole lot could be in the same truck nosing its way subtly towards a corrupt border official on the Mekong border.

The local coppers are understandably daunted. They have uniforms and a mediocre salary and a degree of sense of social responsibility (in some cases) but they are not James Bond. They will fold in the face of a bunch of potentially violent men who have bigger guns than they do.

The Thai military have more guts and very big guns but they can’t be everywhere. I espouse the Freeland Foundation’s approach. (Check their website) Train the park rangers in jungle fighting techniques. Shoot the criminals first. Get the retaliation in first!

If the rangers only cripple them – over to INTERPOL with their wriggling remains. The area, our planet swarms with lots of people who just want to catch a bus, meet some mate for lunch, have lunch, read a book, get promoted, and have a quiet, contented existence. I think that’s laudable! I want people to be happy.

But there are sordid dangerous villains out there. Their existence requires INTERPOL and other hard cases to smash ‘em.

If you see any nonsense going on report it. Please!
