Shaun’s Bit: Dog joke

June 30, 2012

Hugh Paxton’s blog got this gem from Shaun in Namibia. I love the punch line!

Hugh Paxton’s Blog posts this as a warning. Don’t send Africans who are offering you opportunities, anything.

They are trying it on. And will ruin you.

Shaun’s View: Solly Kramer’s Bottle Store- Chatsworth, Durban

February 18, 2012

Shaun sent this larcenous security camera footage to Hugh Paxton’s Blog. It’s a loop – she only steals one crate – so don’t squander  too much time staring at it wondering how many cases of canned goods she can stuff up her dress. This said, her methodology is impressive. She’s wasted as a shop lifter – should be in a circus or on stage. Or in jail. It looks to me as if she’s teaching her kid the moves. Check:-

From Shaun: Thoughts on Life

February 1, 2012

Hugh Paxton Blog got this in from Shaun Lahner. Shaun’s a positive thinker and will do well.

Subject: Life

This is the beginning of a new day …

I have been given me this day

To use as I will.

I can waste it … or use it for good,

But what I do today is important

Because I am exchanging

A day of my life for it!

When tomorrow comes,

This day will be gone forever,

Leaving in its place

Something that I have traded for it.

I want it to be gain … and not loss;

Good … and not evil;

Success … and not failure;

In order that I shall not regret

The price that I have paid for it.

I will try just for today,

For you never fail …

Until you stop trying.

Shaun Lahner: NO CHANGES FOR 2012 PLANNED!!!!

January 11, 2012

A typical Namibian New Years resolution sent to Hugh Paxton’s Blog by our occasional correspondent, Shaun Lahner. Namibia, it seems, hasn’t changed!

There were probably many, many times this year when

I may have…
Disturbed You,
Troubled You,
Pestered You,
Irritated You,
Bugged You,
Or got on your Nerves!!
So today, I just wanted to tell you:

Suck it up, Cupcake!!

Cause there
Planned for 2012!!

Sean Lahner Says ….

October 22, 2011

People born before 1946 were called The Silent and powerful generation..

– People born between 1946 and 1964 are called The Baby Boomers.

– People born between 1965 and 1979 are called Generation X, .

And people born between 1980 and 2010 are called Generation Y ,

Why do we call the last group Generation Y?

Y should I get a job?

Y should I leave home and find my own place?

Y should I get a car when I can borrow yours?

Y should I clean my room?

Y should I wash and iron my own clothes?

Y should I buy any food?

But a cartoonist explained it very eloquently below…

Generation Y
