Hugh Paxton’s Blog has just come back from Vietnam. There’s a jazz club behind the Hilton Opera hotel in Hanoi. Ask for Tommy. He’s learning English, and his tapes are Vietnamese. Utterly incomprehensible! He looks like a gangster but he isn’t. Happy Hour from five till eight. Cheapest Sapporo in the city! Very good venue!

But for fish, skip the trombones and try Ha Long. Won’t let you down!
